Botswana - Extension of Existing Letlhakane 220/132kV Substation, New Karowe 132/11kV substation and Letlhakane to Karowe 132kV Overhead Line in Botswana (Prebid Engg. work awarded by Joe's Electrical Constractors, Gaborone, Botswana)
Scope of Services
The scope of work shall include the following Prebid engineering services for the Electrical, Civil, Structural, Substation Automation System (SAS), Fiber Optic Communication (FOC) system, Fire Detection and Alarm (FDA) and Nitrogen Injection Fire Protection System (NIFPS) works of the Letlhakane 220/132kV & Karowe 132/11kV substations and Letlhakane to Karowe 132kV S/C Overhead Line (Appx. 28.4km) in Botswana.
1. Preparing list of clarifications on the tender document.
2. Quantification of following 'Lot / Set' marked items in Project BOQ
2.1 220/132kV Switchyard Extension at Existing 400/220kV Letlhakane Substation
a) ELECTRO MECHANICAL :
- Quantification of Switchyard Equipment with rating
- Clamp & Connector, Hardware, Insulators, Conductors, Al. tube, etc.
- Substation Grounding system,
- Substation Lightning Protection system,
- Cable trays, racks, supports, etc,
- Indoor and Outdoor Illumination System,
- Quantification of CT JBs, CVT/PT JBs, BMK, Lighting JBs,
- Feeder list for LV AC and DC Auxiliary System,
- Telecommunication System,
- Substation Automation system,
- L.V & Control Cables including Glands and Lugs,
- L.V cable, JBs, etc. for Air Conditioning system,
- Fire-detection alarm system in the control building,
- Watering system for Buildings.

- Common Oil pit (Oil holding dam) for Auto Transformer,

- Verification of OPGW materials,
- Grounding system,
- Lightning Protection system,
- Existing power & telecom line crossing materials.
b) STRUCTURAL :
- Verification of Transmission Line Tower weights.
c) CIVIL :
- Transmission Line Towers foundation,
- Temporary Boundary fence and gate,
- Access road,
3. Review of budgetary quotes / offers / drawings submitted by various equipment / material suppliers.
4. Switchyard layout plan & elevation drawings.
5. Assistance for obtaining offers from various Indian suppliers, if required.
